The Young Strings Foundation exists to help promising, committed young musicians take that next step - providing carefully selected, high-quality instruments on long-term loan when purchasing the right instrument may otherwise be beyond their family's reach.
SET UP TO PERFORM
Finding the right instrument is only the beginning.
Every instrument responds differently to its set-up. We have access to a wide range of strings, fittings and components, allowing us to experiment with different combinations and carefully prepare each instrument for the individual player.
It's a level of experimentation that would be difficult and expensive for most families to undertake themselves but it makes a remarkable difference to how an instrument feels, responds and sounds.
WHY IT MATTERS
As a young musician develops, so does their ability to hear, feel and control their instrument.
A responsive, well-balanced instrument allows them to explore more - greater expression, better tone, more colour and greater confidence in their playing.
